"Char Kiak"

"Char Kiak" or Chinese wooden slip on were very popular in the past and today it is a souvenir for the tourist.


A "Char Kiak" stall at the junction of Temple Street and Jonker Street.

This place was formerly a granite stone carving center dealing in tomb stones, grain grinders, figurines and pestles & mortars.

This morning a few groups of full grown adults looks like they were running or was it strolling past my house. Each group being led by a person carrying a flag of some kind. Was it an event of some sort ??? If it was then it must be an uneventful event.
